Dressing for pleasure

Many a time we’ve dreamed of being somebody else. When we were young when people asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up, we always said: firemen, astronauts or other jobs which require wearing a uniform. The uniform is key here, for some reason, uniforms inspire quite a passion in certain segments of the population. Policemen with their caps, badges, pistols and nightsticks. These accessories are object of hour after hour of erotic contemplation. And the list doesn’t end with policemen, it has hardly just begun. Erotic costumes have something special, and if you know how to use them correctly you will make your partner see the stars.

Sexy erotic dress costumes

It’s clear that the main purpose of an erotic costume is to seduction. It’s all about taking what could be an everyday moment and turning it into something special. To keep this moment alive forever in their mind, care must be taken to choose an adequate and exciting costume. In the first place, it’s very important to know the fantasies and passions of the person you would like to offer this aforementioned gift of experience. Nest step is to find a costume with the least fabric possible, and accessories which are interesting, but not too interesting: the goal is to get him to play with us, not the toys. It’s important to keep in mind, the costume is just the wrapping paper, and the most important gift is what’s inside.

It’s important to look for a costume which is not just to your partner’s liking, but also comfortable for you. You don’t have to abandon sensuality, and it’s important to keep in mind that a costume which restricts your movement is not particularly sexy or practical. The last thing you want to feel whiles dressed as a policewoman is that you are the prisoner. Though uniforms may be a popular fetish, lately there has been a resurgence of interest in typical regional dress or historical costumes as fetish wear, like for example, putting on an old riding frock or a comfortable and sensual traditional silk Kaftan from Marrakech.

The best way to experience it is to go there for you, and loose yourself among the swirl of customs, people and culture. Loose yourself in the winding streets, colourful shops and markets, and act as if you were just another resident. The best way to enjoy a city is blend in, and integrate yourself with those who live there. A great way to do this is renting apartments in Marrakech, so you can enjoy the freedom of having your own sensual cushions.

Having a Double

When I was teen, I often asked myself the word personality meant. I still don’t completely understand the concept, although my studies of art and literature have given me some clues. Famous artist Marcel Duchamp had a double that he christened Rrose Sélavy, Andy Warhol loved to disguise himself in drag and many writers have used their fiction as an escape where they could bring their alter egos to life. All told, it’s quite an interesting theme.

having a double

We won’t refer to schizophrenia or things like bipolar disorder, because these are related with other facets of human psychology. When I refer to having a double, I refer to the idea of having another identity which has been created to allow for observation and self-examination of the multiplicity of one’s personality. Artists and other creative types are in my opinion, the best impostors, because they must accept their internal conflicts and diversity of feeling, and often, the main themes in their work are inspired by this process of reflection and resolution.

For example, take the case of Rrose Sélavy – moniker which sounds like the French aphorism Eros c’est la vie- by Marcel Duchamp, father of the Ready-Made in art. If you look for this woman on the web, there is even a wikipedia profile of the woman, with photos of Duchamp in drag. This feminine alter ego was pretext for all sorts of Dadaistic explorations and poetic games. The famous “Urinal” (1917) which widened the definition of art was signed R.Mutt, another of the many pseudonyms behind which Marcel Duchamp hid.

Two people in one

Another avenue of expression is the costume, the idea of putting oneself in another’s shoes, like in the case of Andy Warhol’s self portraits as a drag queen. American artist Cindy Sherman is also fascinated by costumes, and being another person in another time. Here we a see a fascination with costumes, and inhabiting other eras. This physical metamorphosis is not just about identity politics, it embarks on existential questions as well.

Today, many journalists take advantage of blogs as a platform to express the double they have inside. They hide behind another image so as to not sully their image, and express their opinion about things which perhaps their bosses might not like so much or things would never dare write about without a mask of anonymity.

There are people who dream of taking on another name, career or lifestyle. Others have two completely different lives, and live everyday with conflicting behaviours and contradictory instincts. A different being lives inside struggling to get out…

Our fantasies are both revealing and exciting. Don’t think twice about spending a few days in Morocco listening to your most hidden instincts. Rent affordable and comfortable apartments in Marrakech, and realize that part of the beauty of this world is to find the unity in multiplicity.
